Buried in the Past by Heather Peck ~ Review & Blog Tour

A global pandemic, two missing children and a reckless arsonist...

It is Autumn 2020, and the nation is tentatively emerging from its first lockdown. Streets remain abnormally quiet even as businesses start to reopen. But anxiety still dominates this strange world and evil haunts the shadows.

Desperately seeking two lost children, Greg is distracted by hare-coursers, vehicle thefts and a particularly reckless arsonist targeting farms. Then his investigation uncovers long buried crimes and he’s hit by a personal disaster that will call on all his resilience.

If you enjoy the gripping suspense of Elly Griffiths and the atmospheric settings of L J Ross, you'll love Buried in the Past - Book 7 in the multi-award-winning DCI Geldard Norfolk Mystery series.

I loved this book, the storyline follows on from book 6 which I had read and I was pleased that we were back on the trail looking for Karen and Jake, however, that case was not the top priority for Greg and the team. Luckily, both Greg and Jill are not great at following orders so they still kept on at it.

Alongside this storyline we had an arsonist setting fires to farms and stealing cars which was causing chaos and keeping the team busy. There were some scenes during the fires which had me on the edge of my seat!

There were twists and turns as the team were closing in on finding Karen & Jake and as more of the story was revealed I couldn't believe what I was reading! It had me totally gripped!

I liked hearing more from Greg and his partner Chris as well as seeing the drama that was unfolding in Chris's life too! I'm looking forward to the next book already!
