Dead Fall by A K Turner ~ Review & Blog Tour

Writer's picture: HalesHales

Camden mortuary technician Cassie Raven is back and embroiled in a brand-new gripping forensic mystery. Perfect for fans of Tess Gerritsen, Patricia Cornwell and Kathy Reichs.

One little push is all it takes . . .

Mortuary technician Cassie Raven is shocked to find the body of Bronte, a talented singer on the brink of stardom, in her fridge. The two of them were once schoolmates, although not exactly friends . . .

The police say Bronte jumped from her tenth-floor apartment, but Cassie's instincts are telling her it's murder. The death ignites a social media frenzy, and when police watchdog Phyllida Flyte is sent in to assess the handling of the case she is the only one willing to listen to Cassie.

They join forces but as Cassie delves dangerously deep into Bronte's personal history, more blood must be shed before the terrible truth is exposed.

Review

I loved this book. I have to say that this is the first book that I have read in the series, and it doesn't matter that I started with this one, but I will definitely be backtracking to read the previous books. I like our main character, Cassie. I like the way that she cares about her 'patients' despite them being dead.

I love the quirkiness of her being able to hear things from them to try to point her in the right direction. She also seems like her personal life (relationship-wise) is an absolute disaster! But that just helps to make for more interesting reading!

I loved the storyline of this. It was not clear if Bronte had jumped or been pushed, and it wasn't clear who could have done it if it was the latter. I really liked seeing how it unfolded and thought it was very well done as the 'Big' part was kept right until the end, and I hadn't guessed, which made it even better!

I really liked the writing style of this book and the chapters were short which meant that I just kept reading one more and I seemed to speed through it.

Huge Thanks to Random Things Tours, A.K. Turner and Zaffre Books for my place on the blog tour.
