How many bad decisions does it take to go from doting father to travelling down a very dark path? Not as many as you’d think . . .
Adrian Smythe is just a regular guy. He is employed, married, and loves his daughter Grace. He even has a dog. But he can’t shake the feeling that something is missing.
So, in an act of rebellion, Adrian quits his job and moves out of the family home. After disconnecting from everything in his past, he believes he is finally free from the constraints he resented so much.
But Adrian’s new life may not be exactly what he bargained for. In fact, it could all end in murder.

I really enjoyed this book, there was something about it that was really compelling from the off. It is told fully from our main character Adrian’s point of view.
There are times where his humour shines through and others where you’re reading the thoughts of someone that has lost his mind. I thought that the storyline was very unique and it had me gripped.
It was split into a then and now which filled the gaps into why he was where he was and what had happened in the past for him to be there. I must admit that there was times that I felt really sorry for him as he didn’t seem to be a bad person but he also wasn’t very well I don’t think.
There were some twists and turns along the way that kept you guessing at things. I loved the way it was all rounded off at the end though and thought it was a good ending
