I really enjoyed this read. You knew Claire was having an affair, and you knew it was with one of her best friend’s husbands - you just didn’t know which one! I really liked how it all unfolded piece by piece and it became clear she was out for revenge which was another part of the mystery.
Her school-hood memories were shared with us in stages as she was bracing herself for the upcoming events and I just felt so sorry for her back then when she was in school. Again these memories were given to us in layers building up that full picture.
The friends were fairly self absorbed most of the time to be honest and each keeping their own secrets which added to the story. I liked Laura best out of the friends as I think she had also had a really tough time but she was dealing with things and still being positive.
I did feel for Will though, he seemed like such a nice person and I don’t think Claire had fully thought it through. She definitely took him for granted and I wasn’t sure how things would play out. I loved the suspense and the build up to the big reveal!
