One detective driven by instinct, the other by logic.
It will take both to find a killer who knows the true meaning of fear . . .
When the body of a man is found crucified at the top of Mount Judd, AIDE Lock – the world’s first AI Detective – and DCS Kat Frank are thrust into the spotlight as they are given their first live case.
But with the discovery of another man’s body – also crucified – it appears that their killer is only just getting started. With the police warning local men to be vigilant, the Future Policing Unit is thrust into a hostile media frenzy as they desperately search for connections between the victims. But time is running out for them to join the dots and prevent another death.
For if Kat and Lock know anything, it’s that killers rarely stop – until they are made to.

I loved this book, I couldn't put it down. I have to admit that I have't read the first book in this series however, I will definitely be headed to read that one as this one was fabulous. I really like our main character Kat, I felt so sorry for her at times as she was feeling lonely and she was really out to prove that she could still do her thing on a live case.
I thought that the concept of having an AI aide is really different to be reading about and there were times when Lock made me laugh out loud - and the funniest part is that he doesn't even mean too! I also liked how the partnership and relationship between Lock and Kat develops throughout the story.
The storyline had me gripped as I was trying to work out who was behind the murders, and thought that this was really well thought out and written. The more I was reading the more engrossed I was getting and I just needed to find out who and why. I thought that the reveal of this was great but my heart was almost racing as we were reading those final scenes and the dilemma that was being faced!
