The Killer left nothing behind but a rosary, a kitchen knife, and a dead man. but the dead man is a friend of Sabre Orin Brown. When his unsuspecting wife is accused of the murder, Sabre will stop at nothing to uncover the truth, even if it means unearthing chilling secrets. From a San Diego jail to the shady Chicago nightlife, Sabre's search for the true killer forces her to face the question: What do you do when the ones you trust the most are the ones with the most to hide?
I loved this book and couldn't put it down. The storyline had me gripped from the off and I needed to know who the murderer was. I really liked our main character Sabre, and really felt sorry for her as she has a really hard job, and also had a lot to deal with! The fact that she was friends with Betty and John made it even harder when she got the call and then as she was trying to prove that Betty was innocent there were times when she just wasn't sure and you could tell that she hated doubting her.
We do get to see some of Sabre's personal life and parts of her new relationship with Luke, and her friendships with JP and Bob extend outside of work and are really nice to see. I liked the fact that we heard a little about some of the cases that Sabre was working on as well as the main storyline with Betty.
As the storyline was developing I was still unsure who was responsible, and then as we got to the reveal it was then trying to work out why - and that was revealed amazingly! I was on the edge of my seat with some of the scenes nearer to the end and I was not expecting that ending - those last two words!!! Just brilliant! You can grab a copy here #Aff
