Review & Blog Tour ~ The Whispering Palms by Annette Leigh

Writer's picture: HalesHales

Twenty years after the mysterious death of her mother, ex-cop and true crime novelist Andie Yates, returns to a small Australian coastal town to search for missing teenage backpacker, Summer Daniels.

When she arrives in Bayswater, there is no welcoming committee, no brass band, no great-to-see-you-again smiles, just suspicion and mistrust.

Battling lies and deception, Andie joins forces with private investigator, Mac Turner, to uncover the town’s shocking secrets.

Andie’s fight for truth and justice turns into a fight for her life.

I could not put this book down!! It had me gripped from the off and the more I read that more I had to keep on reading!! I loved our main character Andie, and the fact that she was ex-police but still had the need to investigate made for great reading.

I liked Andie and loved the relationship she had with Mac, I liked the fact that we got to see a little insight into Andie's personal life along the way and her relationship with Simon. I liked the fact that there was a dual storyline to this however it was all located in the same place even though the mysteries were twenty years apart.

The storyline just seemed to build pace and there were times when I was really struggling to work out who could be trusted (except Mac of course!) as although it is only a small town, everyone knows everyone and everything - unless your Andie looking for answers to questions that is and then no one knows anything!

I'm really hoping that this is the start of a series as I would love to see more of the partnership between Andie and Mac. If you would like to grab a copy of the book then you can do so here #Aff

Huge thanks to Love Books Tours and Annette Leigh for allowing me to take part in the blog tour in exchange for a free honest review.
