So - let me give you a little background here - I only just discovered this series with book 6 and I loved it so much that I needed to go back and read the rest from the beginning so here is my round up of books 1-5 in the Jo & Macy PI Series.
Forecast Murder - Jo & Macy Book 1
I love this book as the introduction to Jo & Macy. Jo is looking for a part time job to help pay the bills whilst her self-employed astrology business starts to bring in some money. She sees the advert for the PI agency and gets the job without even agreeing to it really!
I loved the storyline and wasn’t sure who was responsible for the murders until we were led to them towards the end as there was multiple people who it could have been.
Well written and it had me laughing in places and the partnership between Jo & Macy formed. I think part of this was due to how Macy’s character is written as slightly stand off ish almost!
So glad I came back to the start and looking forward to book 2 already!
A Sign for Murder - Book 2
Jo really is the gift that keeps on giving, only she could accidentally take on a client whilst in Macy’s office that turns into complete chaos!
Another fab storyline where one brother is searching for his other brother who is missing. Well written with options for who the culprit was that kept me interested and wanting to read more.
I’m loving the relationship between Jo and Macy develop and feel that we are seeing more into the cracks of Macy’s aloofness.
Murder as Predicted - Book 3
Only Jo can turn an astrology client into a PI client and then appear to cause carnage!!
This book started a little differently as we went back in time for a chapter but then headed into the present.
Another great storyline where I was torn between 2 for who had done it, there was parts that were uncovered that I was like wow - I was NOT expecting that!
Nice to see the relationship between Jo & Macy develop but then take a turn for the worse!! The good thing about finding book 6 first means I know all hope is not lost.
The Hanged Man - Book 4
I’m not going to lie, I was very discombobulated at the start of the book when I realised that Jo had moved away and left Macy & Wilson. However I needn’t have worried as in true Jo style she finds herself in the middle of a murder and in need of Macy’s help so all was well.
Another great storyline that had plenty of twists and turns and another where I really wasn’t sure who had done it! There was so many viable options!! And I did love the ending when everything came out and I was like woah - not expecting that!!
I’m excited to read the next book as I think this is where we ‘meet’ a little more of Hanni, Jo’s best friend so I’m looking forward to that!
A Future Murder - Book 5
Another brilliant storyline, with more of Macy throughout which I liked.
We also saw more of Hanni which was nice to ‘get to know’ her a little bit more.
The storyline itself was another great one and I honestly couldn’t work out who or why as there was definitely more than one candidate in the frame that had reasons!
I loved the ending and the fact that Jo has now decided that she’s going to become a PI.
As it was book 6 where I ‘discovered’ Jo & Macy I already know what happens in that one but I do hope that I don’t have to wait too long for book 7 as I feel like they are friends now that I’m going to miss.
